Why it exists

Free PDF and image sites kept stopping me with daily limits or file caps right when I needed to submit a document, usually followed by a payment screen.

The bigger concern was security. When uploading a contract or an ID scan, there was no way to know which server kept it or for how long. So I built tools with no usage limits that never send the file off your device.

How files are processed

When you open a tool, the code it needs (JavaScript and WebAssembly) is downloaded to your browser, and that code processes your file in your device's memory. PDF editing uses pdf-lib and pdf.js, PDF compression and encryption use a WebAssembly build of qpdf, and image work uses the browser's Canvas. Every open-source component and its license is listed in the open-source notices linked in the footer.

Because there is no upload server, FileLivo cannot receive or store your files. You can confirm this yourself in your browser's developer tools: the Network tab shows no file upload request while a tool runs.

How FileLivo is run

All tools are free, need no account and have no usage limits. Domain and development costs are planned to be covered by advertising shown on the pages. If ads are introduced, they will be placed away from the tool work area, and the privacy policy will be updated first.

What to expect

Compatibility depends on file format, PDF structure, browser decoding and encoding support, and device memory. Large, encrypted, or damaged files may be restricted.

Compression and conversion can change quality, transparency, or metadata. PDF editing may not fully preserve signatures, forms, and other advanced features. Read each tool's limitations and compare the result with your original.
